Extensive landscape renovation in Nacogdoches County started with building up the land next to the house to make it more level. We also transplanted muhly grass from the front of the home to the side tree line. It’ll serve as a barrier along the side of the yard.
New drainage pipe and a retaining wall followed and then came the design of the flower beds. At the same time, our mason partner installed flagstone on the front porch and sidewalks. The front sitting area includes 2” flagstone rock set on a compacted base with the joints filled in with crushed granite. A concrete border was then installed to stabilize the path, and mulch covers the border. We also utilized compacted decomposed granite for the fire pit sitting area and walkways. This type of granite is a special mix from Marble Falls, Texas. It’s harder and more durable.
Another feature you’ll notice are the two standalone planter boxes on the side of the house. This was designed to section off footpaths. Hundreds of new plants were installed, as well as 8,100 sq. ft. of sod.
